Investigators from the Darien Police Department were dispatched to a North Road home at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3, when a homeowner reported that his 2015 Porsche Cayenne had been stolen. The vehicle had last been seen in his driveway on Thursday, Dec. 27.
Police said that when the homeowner returned home on Jan. 3, he found that the Porsche was missing. The vehicle had been left unlocked and the keys were left inside during the week.
The report led to an extensive search for the stolen Porsche, which was found in Newark, New Jersey the following day on Friday, Jan. 4 and returned to Darien.
No suspect has been identified. The investigation into the stolen Porsche is ongoing.
